The Placemates Let Off Some Steam at Foxfield Railway
5/7/19, 11:17 AMResidents from a Safe Harbor care home in Stoke-on-Trent spent Early May bank holiday afternoon at a local heritage railway.
The Place Up Hanley care home, Bucknall, travelled to Foxfield Railway for their Victorian Weekend event.
Foxfield Light Railway Society was set up in 1965 to preserve the Foxfield Railway, a key rail link to Foxfield Colliery during it's operational years.
Residents were able to take a ride on the miniature railway. Foxfield Miniature Railway is a 7¼” ground level railway that takes riders for a short journey around the Caverswall station site.
As part of the weekend events, they also got to see an owl and bird of prey presentation, with a stunning array of beautiful birds on show.
Residents finished off the afternoon in the buffet, where they had a hot drink and a snack before heading back home.
