Residents Go Back to Nature at Westport Lake
2/20/19, 3:42 PMResidents from a Safe Harbor care home in Porthill, Newcastle-under-Lyme, enjoyed a day out to a nearby nature park.
The excursion saw Florence House residents visit Westport Lake where they fed the geese and other birds that inhabit the lake at this time of year.
Westport Lake is located just a few miles from Florence House and is looked after by the Stoke-on-Trent City Council. It's home to a wide array of wildlife and even incorporates a conservation area to the north.
After strolling along the lake, residents visited the Westport Lake Visitor Centre for a pot of tea in the café.
The visitor centre is operated by Staffordshire Wildlife Trust and has panoramic views of the water which is ideal for bird watching and taking in the scenery.
Safe Harbor residents enjoy regular trips out to local attractions of their choosing. To see more just like our Facebook Page.
