1st June
This week at The Place Up Hanley ...
Val went to the hairdressers at the weekend and had a re-style - we all think she looks beautiful with her new haircut!
We've also been taking advantage of all this lovely weather to spend time in our garden. Some of the time our ladies have just been sitting outside enjoying the weather, but we've also been very busy gardening and planting vegetables.
We also had some fun games of bingo with family this week, which brought plenty of smiles!
24th May
This week's activities at The Place Up Hanley....
What a fun week we've been having! We started off with a game of 'Lilypads', which is really good for hand-eye coordination and always makes our residents chuckle.
We also had a fun Movie afternoon, watching 'Grease' while enjoying our snacks from the Popcorn Vendor
To keep us active we got the parachute out for morning fitness and then had a few games of Bingo with some lovely chocolate-y prizes.
9th May
Our Wonderful Coronation Party!
What an amazing afternoon we had, full of fun, flags, food and music! And there seem to be a lot of fans of the new King at The Place Up Hanley!
Thank you so much to all the friends & relatives who joined us and helped create such a fun atmosphere and also to staff and families for donations for the Tombola.
Another big thank you to Leigh Anthony for the entertainment and to Robust uk for their donations.
And a HUGE thank you to our activities staff and care staff for all the hard work they put into creating such a wonderful event!
9th May
Debbie, our wonderful Kitchen Assistant, is raising money for Dementia UK by doing the 'Walk 31 Miles' in May Challenge.
We see the impact of Dementia every day and Dementia UK is a charity close to all of our hearts at The Place Up Hanley. They provide vital advice, support and nursing services for people living with Dementia.
We are so proud of Debbie who has walked come rain or shine every day and we know she will see this through right to the end of the month, all with her lovely, big smile.
