Accommodation at Florence House Care Home in Staffordshire 

Florence House is one of the newest care homes to join Safe Harbor. This modern Staffordshire care home was opened in June 2012 and specialises in residential and dementia care. Florence House is able to support Privately funded residents any you can also source funding from the council for you care to live with us. Florence House is a purpose built care home, designed especially to meet the needs of elderly residents in our care. It is situated in Porthill bank, Porthill, Newcastle-under-Lyme. Florence House care home has 36 bedrooms, each finished to a high standard and featuring wall mounted flat screen TV's.

Although rooms come ready furnished, we encourage residents to personalise their room with their own furnishings, decorations and personal belongings.

Social Areas

Florence House have one large lounge area, which can be used by residents to relax, socialise and/or to join in with daily activities. There is a adjoining dining area which is used throughout the day to serve meals and refreshments. There are also several smaller private areas around the home for residents to relax in and to entertain any visitors they may have.

The grounds are managed by our specialised team of maintenance personnel. Residents have 24-hour access to the garden patio area featuring seating, landscaped areas including raised plant beds, specially designed to provide sensory stimulation.

The main communal areas are used for larger functions and events, such as live music shows, animal therapy visits and seasonal events.

Other features of Florence House care home include a personal salon with regular professional hairdresser visits and we have plans underway to build a corner shop/cafe and a pub/bar in our grounds.

Housekeeping

Florence House care home has a team of experienced housekeeping staff who are tasked with keeping the home spotless.

Each resident's room is cleaned daily. Residents may be asked to vacate the room whilst it is cleaned. Communal areas, toilets and other areas are cleaned on a regular basis throughout the day.

If you spot any issues, or require any help with cleaning, please do not hesitate to tell any member of staff who will deal with it accordingly.

Personal Laundry

Florence House care home has it's own on-site laundry facilities. Items of clothing can be laundered as and when required. Personal dry cleaning can be arranged at a small additional cost, our activities co-ordinator will be happy to arrange this for you.

In order to ensure that items are kept safe, please ensure all clothes are clearly marked with your name. We are happy to do this on yoru behalf if you would like.

Bed linen is changed weekly, or more frequently if required. Bed linen, towels and facecloths are all freely provided and laundered on-site.
