Activities November Newsletter
10/12/2012
Hi Everyone,
I would like to start this months Newsletter with a special welcome to our new residents, Kath, Elsie, Hilda Roy and Alma who seem to be settling in very well. We are so pleased to have them join us here at Florence House. Well we have had some great fun with birthday celebrations this month. May was the first to celebrate her birthday and was crowned Queen for the day! Jim had a slightly different party as we teamed it up with a country and western themed tea dance where we all wore cowboy hats and Jim opted for an Indian headdress rather than our Kings crown so he was Big Chief Injun Jim for the day
Then we had a combined party for Ellen and Ray as their birthdays were only one day apart so we had both King and Queen for that day. All of our birthday parties were great fun with lots of singing and dancing, sherry and of course the much appreciated Birthday cakes that Kath our cook baked and decorated especially for them, thanks Kath!!
In our Arts and Crafts sessions this month we have made Xmas cards, iced and decorated some digestives turning them in to lovely Xmas biscuits and we have made some chocolate rice krispy cakes which of course were enjoyed by all at supper time.
We have also enjoyed our music and movement sessions with the tambourines and maracas although I’m now on the lookout for some other instruments (pretend or otherwise) as they have now started to mimic trombones and trumpets etc!
All our residents are great fun to be with and constantly make me smile with their enthusiasm in taking part in all the activities we do.
Well we have our Christmas decorations up and we have been overwhelmed with the donations of various items and monies in readiness for our Xmas party on December 14th We hope that you all enjoy your evening; I know all our residents will enjoy you being here sharing this very special evening with us.
On behalf of management, staff and residents can we wish you all, A Very Merry Christmas and thank you for all the support you have given
Maryann
