Milton Beavers Scout Out The Place Up Hanley

A Safe Harbor care home hosted a Scouting event earlier this week.

Members of Milton Beavers came to The Place Up Hanley over two nights to take part in activities with our residents.

Beavers are a section of the Scouts for young children aged 5-7 years old.

Activities that everyone got involved with included water-painting, bulb potting and singing.

Residents from our sister home, Agnes & Arthur, also travelled to attend the event.

Intergenerational care has been shown to massively increase the well-being of elderly residents in care homes.

Social interaction and activity helps to decrease loneliness, delay mental decline, lower blood pressure and even reduce the risk of disease and death in elders.

Safe Harbor have dedicated Activity Coordinators in every home to provide meaningful activities to our residents. We encourage everyone to get involved in our daily schedule of games, exercise and outings.
