2019.09.13 - Peak Wildlife Park Thumb.jpgResidents from Safe Harbor care homes in Stoke-on-Trent have visited a zoological park in the Staffordshire Peak District recently.

The Place Up Hanley care home, in Bucknall, and Agnes and Arthur care home, in Bradeley, joined together for a day out at Peak Wildlife Park, located at Winkhill, near Leek.

Peak Wildlife Park hosts a wide variety of exotic and endangered animals from across three continents and is easy to navigate as it is fully accessible to wheelchair users.

Residents were able to come face-to-face with Humboldt penguins, Ring-tailed Lemurs and pygmy goats, amongst many other species, as they spent the day wandering the park.

Lunch was served under a pagoda near to the penguin enclosure at the same time as the penguins also enjoyed their feeding time.

Before leaving, some residents picked up a memento or two from the gift shop to remember their day by.

Regular trips out like this are arranged for residents at all Safe Harbor care homes. You can like our Facebook page to see all the upcoming events.
