Safe Harbor Care Homes for the elderly – working with Dementia Friends delivering Information sessions in 2016

Viv Hemmings (Pictured below) – Training Manager for Safe Harbor group of Care Homes has been a Dementia Friends Champion since February 2016. We at Safe Harbor have been well supported by the Alzheimer’s Society initiative.

Through our Information Sessions, we are helping to change the way people think, act and talk about dementia.

Viv has successfully delivered numerous information sessions already and is delighted with the positive feedback and action from our staff.

We are proud to have created 43 new dementia friends in the last 8 weeks alone who will be employed by Safe Harbor and with sessions taking place each month – this figure will no doubt continue to grow.

Every Dementia Friend we make is another step towards the Alzheimer’s Society reaching 4 million Dementia Friends by 2020.
