2020.01.02 - Sid St John Thumb.jpgA Safe Harbor care home in Stoke-on-Trent has played host to a professional singer as part of the birthday celebrations for a resident.

'The Soulster' Sid St. John visited The Place Up Hanley care home, located in Bucknall, to perform for the birthday girl and all the other residents who reside at the home.

Sid sang a wide variety of well-known songs by artists such as Neil Diamond, Roy Orbison and Elvis Presley. Everyone was able to join in with Sid, singing along and getting up to dance to all their favourite tracks.

Music events such as these are beneficial to people living in a care home setting, as well as those with dementia as it encourages movement and exercise, as well as social interaction.

All care homes across the Safe Harbor group have regular live entertainment from singers such as Sid St. John. Each home also has a full schedule of daily activities to keep each and every resident busy and engaged.

You can like the Safe Harbor Facebook page to see more activities and events that are going on across the group. You can also like The Place Up Hanley Facebook page to keep up to date with what is happening in that home.
